What 22.5W charging means for your devices

A maximum power rating is a starting point. The port, cable and device determine the usable charging combination.

22.5W is a maximum under supported conditions

A 22.5W rating means a charger can supply up to 22.5 watts through a supported connection. It does not mean every port delivers that power or that your phone will draw it throughout a charge. Charging wattage describes the rate at which electrical energy can be delivered. It is different from the mAh capacity printed on a power bank. A larger-capacity bank is not automatically a faster charger, and a higher output number does not guarantee a particular percentage increase in a fixed number of minutes.

Power is voltage multiplied by current: 9 volts at 2 amperes is 18 watts. That example describes one electrical output combination. A product’s maximum rating may be available only through a particular port and a compatible charging protocol.

Check the port you plan to use

The PowerPulse 20K product page lists up to 22.5W from USB-A and up to 20W USB-C PD output. Those are different port specifications. Connecting a phone through USB-C does not make the USB-A maximum apply to that connection. Check the current PowerPulse 20K specifications and your device’s charging requirements together.

Compatibility matters more than the headline number

The power source, cable and receiving device need to support a compatible charging mode. USB-C describes a connector system; it is not itself a promise of USB Power Delivery support. USB-IF’s terminology guidance makes that distinction explicit.

For a practical example, Apple’s guidance lists a compatible USB-C adapter and suitable cable for fast charging supported iPhone models. Requirements vary by model, and Apple notes that charging time depends on settings and environmental conditions. Use Apple’s current model-specific guidance to check your phone; this guide does not promise Apple’s test results from a TEKINFINITE power bank.

Expect the charging rate to change

A device manages its own charging. Battery level, temperature and active use can affect the result. The maximum printed on a charger is not a constant reading you should expect throughout a complete charge. Avoid choosing a charger solely because another device achieved a particular result with it.

Several ports need a separate check

A multi-port charger can have a combined output limit. Do not add every port’s individual maximum and assume that total is available simultaneously. If the shared-output specification is not documented, ask before relying on simultaneous fast charging.

Start with the port and charging protocol your device supports, choose a suitable cable, then compare capacity for your routine. Our 10K vs 20K guide covers the capacity decision. For a specific device combination, contact support with its model and the ports you intend to use.
